University Logo:
The logo of the Islamic University was launched in 2004 with the establishment of the university, symbolising a new era of development and progress for science and learning with the launch of the university, as the logo included the date of establishment. The logo icon clearly symbolises the affiliation of the university has an Islamic character even in its architectural origins, where the decorations symbolise to the purely Islamic environment in which the city of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) lives. The logo aims to present the university’s vision to promote and expand the Arab and Islamic heritage while adhering to the principles and methodologies as a first-class Islamic educational institution.

University Name and Font Miniaturisation on the sides of the logo
The Thuluth font was chosen to write the name of the logo because the Thuluth font is the font used to write the Holy Quran, and also because the university is Islamic in nature and its connection to the Holy Quran is permanent and inherent.
The miniature writings on both sides of the logo symbolise the Republic of Iraq and its name is written on one side and on the other side the name of Najaf Al Ashraf is written as the location of the Islamic University in addition to the formation of the font in a way that is consistent with the Islamic character to preserve the identity of the Islamic University.

Bab Al-Tusi Symbol
A door was chosen from the doors of the upper sanctuary purified to mediate the logo because the upper sanctuary purified is the symbol of Najaf and that the Islamic University is associated with the light and thought of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and the door of Sheikh Tusi was chosen from among the doors of the sanctuary purified to be a symbol of the Islamic University in Najaf because Sheikh Tusi is the founder of the scientific seminary in Najaf to be the first tributary seminary for everyone who wants to acquire religious sciences
In addition to putting the saying of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) that I am the city of knowledge and on its door is the top of the door in the slogan since the Islamic University is a scientific center belonging to Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)
In addition to the presence of a ray of light emanating from the small inner door symbolizing the ray of light of the tomb of the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)

Ornamentation around the logo
The circular shape of the logo was chosen because circular shapes are in harmony with Islamic architecture and its motifs, as well as the Islamic motifs, as the university is closely linked to Islamic culture
