Establishment of the department
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research approved its establishment with its book numbered H/A 9080 on 24 December 2020
The Department of Radiology and Sonar Technologies believes that radiology and sonar technology is a very important process in diagnosing diseases to reach effective treatment in the service of the individual and society by seeking to get his students to the level of knowledge with the latest technologies and gaining them the skills necessary to perform this outstanding professional work to the fullest with full commitment to the ethics of the profession in the service of the patient and the community.
The Department of Radiology and Sonar Technologies seeks to cultivate the values of auxiliary medical services to reach the correct diagnosis and treatment of the individual and society as a necessary detail in the medical field no less important than the rest of the specialties while emphasizing the process of continuous self-education to follow up on technical developments in the field of specialization.
The Department of Radiology and Sonar Technologies looks forward to providing its students during four academic years with theoretical information, skills and practical experiences that enable them to perform their duties in the field of specialization within the health institutions to the fullest and train them in the process of continuous education and the development of information and increase them to be useful members in the service of their people and nation in addition to feeding them islamic values and concepts on the approach of the thinking of al-Mohammed for their benefit in the world and the hereafter.

Graduation of qualified specialists with the knowledge and skills that enable them to deal efficiently with radiology, medical imaging and radiological examinations of all kinds.

Training students on how to deal with various conditions within the radiology department and ways to take care of them, and justify radiation exposure to it.

Preparing students with professional and administrative ethics and pictorial quality in the Department of Radiology.

Educate students about the risks of radiation exposure and how to protect workers and patients from these risks.

Developing students’ educational and research abilities and creativity skills.

Provide the right environment and possibilities to enable faculty members to increase their ability and develop their academic skills to ensure the quality of educational outcomes.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in medical techniques, the graduate of the Department of Radiology Techniques is awarded the title of “Radiology Technician” as a job description, but after receiving a master’s degree, he is awarded the title of Radiography Technician.

Working in diagnostic radiography centers in health institutions.

Operation of various radiographers (X-rays), digital image projectors (CR), ultrasound diagnostic devices (sonar), CT scans and MRI and care under the supervision of a specialist radiologist.

Preparing various radiography devices to work through the preparation of special protocols and according to the required examination by the attending physician, which is carried out under the supervision of the specialty radiologist in the department of radiology in the health institutions.
