The President of the Islamic University, Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, recently participated in an intellectual seminar titled “Combating Intellectual and Cultural Invasion,” organized by the Faculty of Education for Girls at Kufa University in collaboration with the Directorate of Education in Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate. The event was attended by prominent figures, including the First Deputy Governor of Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate, Prof. Imad Al-Jazairy, Prof. Dr. Yasser Lafta Hassoun Al-Akili, former President of Kufa University, Prof. Sahar Al-Hassani, Dean of the Faculty of Education for Girls, and Mr. Mardan Al-Badiri, Director of Education in Najaf. Also present were deans from various faculties at Kufa University.

The seminar commenced with a speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, who underscored the importance of countering intellectual and cultural invasion by enhancing community awareness and reinforcing national identity.
Prof. Dr. Al-Salami’s participation aimed to share the Islamic University and Al-Furqan Model Schools’ experiences in addressing cultural invasion. These initiatives included integrating mosque districts, establishing doctrinal and jurisprudential inquiry offices, allocating prayer time in lesson schedules, launching the Al-Basira channel for doctrinal thought, organizing religious trips to holy shrines, honoring women in Islamic attire, creating Dar Al-Quran, and incorporating Islamic ideology into all departments.
In conjunction with the seminar, an exhibition of awareness posters and paintings was inaugurated, highlighting the dangers of intellectual invasion and strategies to combat it. The exhibition featured artworks and guides designed to raise community awareness and strengthen cultural identity.
