Islamic University and Central Technical University Sign Academic Twinning Agreement to Boost Technical Education in Iraq

As part of efforts to advance technical education and scientific research in Iraq, the Islamic University of Najaf has signed a significant academic twinning agreement with the Central Technical University. The agreement was formalized during an official ceremony hosted by the Central Technical University, attended by prominent academics and researchers.

Prof. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, president of the Islamic University of Najaf, represented the University, while Prof. Waddah Amer Hatim Al-Tamimi signed on behalf of the Central Technical University.
During the event, Prof. Al-Salami emphasized the importance of academic collaboration in enhancing higher education and aligning it with labor market demands. He described the twinning agreement as a pivotal step toward improving scientific research, elevating the quality of technical education, and creating new opportunities for students and researchers. He also highlighted the university’s commitment to expanding partnerships both locally and internationally to exchange expertise, develop curricula, and foster research cooperation.
Prof. Al-Salami further noted that this initiative aligns with directives from Iraq’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, aimed at strengthening academic partnerships among Iraqi universities. This approach seeks to support technical education and create an advanced academic environment that meets contemporary needs.
