Welcome to the Islamic University in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf

Founded on the vision of a human civilization that upholds the dignity and well-being of mankind, the Islamic world seeks scholarly institutions dedicated to Islam as a global civilizational endeavor rooted in profound knowledge. In the rich tapestry of Iraq, a land steeped in ancient civilizations and cultural heritage, there emerged a call for Islamic universities that embrace the essence of the nation in a modern, globalized context, free from extremism and narrow-mindedness. This call aimed to transform the Islamic intellect into a rational, demonstrative, and humane entity, infused with a dynamic spiritual fervor for devotion to the Divine. Thus, a distinguished cadre of scholars and educators established the Islamic University College as the cornerstone of an Islamic academic institution. Endorsed by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, this university chose Najaf, the revered city inheriting the legacy of Kufa and the renowned Sheikh Tusi University, as its headquarters. From a mere dream, this idea blossomed into a tangible reality, embodying a thousand-year-old tradition of knowledge and enlightenment.

Najaf Islamic University’s vision:

1- There is an urgent need for an academic scientific institution that teaches pure and human sciences with a clear Islamic vision.

2- The need to provide society and the labor market with scientific competencies that are intellectually and behaviorally fortified to enrich the scientific renaissance that our new Iraq is witnessing.

3- The need to contribute with official scientific institutions to attract iraqi youth to the arenas of science and knowledge instead of drifting in fields that may harm society.

4- The city of Najaf has its scientific and cognitive peculiarities that are active in the cultural and scientific renaissance, Therefore, its sons should establish a scientific edifice commensurate with the status of this city.
