Department of Construction and Projects

The Department of Construction and Projects includes the following departments:

  1. Planning and Project Study Division.
  2. Follow-up Division.
  3. Implementation Division.

It is responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Implementing investment plan projects issued by the Planning Authority through direct supervision of implementation and payment of its accounts.
  2. Preparing feasibility studies for investment plan projects and preparing their functional requirements.
  3. Conducting inspections for rehabilitation and expansion works for university buildings and implementing them either honestly or by referral in the form of contracts, according to powers, and after obtaining the approval of the President of the University.
  4. Providing technical advice to the President of the University, assistants to the President of the University, and deans of colleges.
  5. Preparing some designs for small buildings with technical specifications and preparing tables of their quantities.
  6. Preparing and discussing the plan for university projects and including them according to priorities within the annual and future investment plan.
  7. Coordinating with engineering consulting offices when preparing designs and providing them with information and requirements for them.
  8. Follow up on the implementation of public contracts and completion stages and take the necessary legal measures in the event that the contractor violates contractual obligations.
  9. Preparing and administering tender documents administratively and translating contracts and tender documents.
  10. Announce tenders and create committees to open and evaluate bids.
