English Language Department at the College of Education Concludes the Fifth Cultural Week

The Fifth Cultural Week, organized by the English Language Department at the College of Education of the Islamic University, concluded on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, with wide and distinguished participation from the department’s students.
The closing ceremony featured a range of purposeful and high-quality activities. The program opened with a notable literary segment titled:
“Living Literature: How Do Literary Texts Speak,”
which embodied the idea that literature speaks rather than merely being written. Students presented literary texts in a vivid and impactful manner, reflecting their skills in performance and analysis.
The ceremony also included an interactive cultural segment
entitled “Bright Minds Challenge: Language and Culture,”
aimed at enhancing students’ linguistic and cultural awareness through an engaging competitive format that fostered interaction and dialogue.
In addition, the event witnessed the recitation of a poem in English about Imam Ali (peace be upon him), which received strong appreciation and engagement from the audience for its profound humanistic meanings and noble values.
These activities were held under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Samer Iyad Al-Fahham, who played a prominent role in organizing and overseeing the Cultural Week’s programs, reflecting the department’s commitment to supporting student talents and developing their academic and cultural capacities.
The Fifth Cultural Week comes as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to establish a stimulating educational environment that combines knowledge with creativity and promotes cooperation and a sense of belonging among students.
