As part of the activities on the second day of the Fifth Cultural Week organized by the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf, and under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Shaker Shanawa, with the supervision of the Assistant Dean, Professor Dr. Munther Kazem Abu Suda, the College of Pharmacy conducted a voluntary educational awareness campaign on diabetes aimed at raising health awareness among students and the wider university community.
The campaign included simplified explanations of the different types of diabetes, highlighting associated advantages and challenges, and outlining the principles of proper nutrition for diabetic patients. It also emphasized modern treatment methods and the latest scientific developments in disease management and prevention of complications.
The campaign was organized through the efforts of Teaching Assistant Zaid Madloul, and pharmacy instructors Karar Adnan and Ola Moayed, with active participation from fourth-year pharmacy students, who played a key role in delivering the awareness content and engaging directly with attendees.
The campaign received widespread participation and remarkable interaction from attendees, reflecting the importance of such activities in promoting health culture, fostering a spirit of volunteerism among students, and reinforcing the College of Pharmacy’s role in serving the community and disseminating medical awareness in a scientific and purposeful manner.
