The Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf inaugurated the activities of its Cultural Week, held over three days from Monday, 9 February 2026, to Wednesday, 11 February 2026, in a vibrant atmosphere marked by a rich variety of cultural and academic programs. The event features active participation from the University’s colleges and academic departments, alongside a number of companies and institutions from both the public and private sectors.
The opening ceremony included the launch of the Cultural Week Bazaar by the President of the Islamic University, Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Ameer Al-Salami. The bazaar showcased a diverse range of pavilions highlighting student achievements, scientific and cultural projects, as well as contributions from supporting and sponsoring entities, reflecting meaningful academic engagement with community institutions.
The opening events were attended by the Director of the Martyrs Foundation in Najaf Al-Ashraf, Dr. Naseer Al-Shaibani; the Scientific Assistant to the University President, Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdul Sahib Al-Mudhaffar; and the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Hassan Taher Malham, in addition to a number of college deans, faculty members, and a large gathering of university students.
The Cultural Week aims to invigorate cultural activity within the University, foster creativity and intellectual exchange, and open new avenues of cooperation with community institutions and the public and private sectors, thereby supporting the educational and cultural mission and reinforcing the University’s role as an active academic and cultural institution in society.
