College of Islamic Sciences at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf Participates in the Meeting of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra

During the meeting, the agenda approved by the Committee Presidency was discussed. The deans reviewed the mechanisms for the work of evaluation committees for programme accreditation of Colleges of Islamic Sciences in Iraq, based on the experiences of five universities where committee field visits had been completed. The Council also discussed with the Head of the Programme Accreditation Committee the shortcomings that accompanied the work of the committees that visited the five universities and the ways to address them.

The Council further discussed the issue of the job description of graduates of Colleges of Islamic Sciences, prompted by the job description circulated by the Ministry of Planning. The Council decided to form a committee to prepare a detailed report on the approvals issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research since 2015 regarding graduates’ job descriptions, in a manner consistent with their specialisations. The report will be submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education for the purpose of correcting the job descriptions at the Ministries of Planning and Finance.

The participants also urged the organisation of scientific activities that contribute to raising community awareness and promoting efforts to curb extremism that leads to terrorism.

The meeting concluded with the President of the University of Samarra hosting the deans, during which he praised the role of Colleges of Islamic Sciences in Iraq and their impact in promoting moderation and rejecting extremism within Iraqi society.
