Islamic University Hosts “My Abaya, My Identity” Celebration for Female Students

The Islamic University organized a celebratory forum titled “My Abaya, My Identity” to honor female students who wear the Islamic abaya and hijab. The event drew wide participation, with more than seven hundred students attending, as part of the university’s ongoing programs to promote moral values and strengthen Islamic identity within the academic community.
The forum was attended by the university’s founder, His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mr. Sadreddin al-Qabanji, and the President of the Islamic University, Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Ameer al-Salami, alongside a number of academic and educational figures.
The program opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by addresses from the founder and the university president. Both emphasized the importance of combining academic excellence with adherence to values, reaffirming the university’s support for female students committed to the hijab and abaya.
Additional contributions included a speech from the Religious and Educational Guidance and Counseling Division, delivered by Umm Haidar Al-Qabanji, highlighting the educational and cultural significance of the Islamic cloak. The forum also featured a poetic performance by Wasiq Al-Issawi, musical segments by the Holy Alawi Shrine Singing Band, and recitations by Ahmed Al-Fatlawi and Al-Sayed Hussein Al-Helou.
The event concluded with the distribution of the Islamic Abaya to participating students, underscoring the university’s dedication to fostering a culture of modesty and reinforcing Islamic identity within its environment.
