The Department of Industrial Kidney Technologies at the College of Medical Technologies, Islamic University, organised an extensive scientific field tour for third-year students, which included visits to the Peritoneal Dialysis Centre and the Central Blood Bank in Najaf Al-Ashraf, under the direct supervision of the department’s administration and academic staff.
The tour aimed to provide students with an advanced practical training environment that enhances their theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. Students were introduced to the operational mechanisms within specialised healthcare institutions, explored the latest technologies used in treating kidney diseases and peritoneal dialysis, and learned about the procedures for blood preservation, testing, and preparation inside the Blood Bank.
This visit comes as part of the Islamic University’s commitment to strengthening the practical dimension of education by offering real-world training opportunities that enable students to acquire the professional skills required in the medical field.
The College of Medical Technologies affirmed that such scientific tours constitute a key component of its annual plan, playing an essential role in developing students’ competencies and preparing qualified medical cadres equipped with the knowledge and expertise needed to serve the community effectively.
