Islamic University President Receives Volunteer Team Officials, Emphasizes Volunteerism as Key to Building a Conscious, Responsible Generation

Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University of Najaf Al-Ashraf, received a number of heads and members of the university’s volunteer teams, after the university received the Shield of Excellence from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in appreciation of its distinguished participation in the field of volunteer work among Iraqi universities.

In his speech, the university president stressed that volunteer work represents a supreme human and moral value, and is a fundamental pillar for building an academic generation that is aware and responsible towards society, praising the student initiatives that reflect the spirit of belonging, commitment and social responsibility among university students.

Al-Salami called on students to take the initiative to implement volunteer work that serves the community, stressing that the university will support and assist every purposeful student project.

For his part, the head of the Volunteer Work Division at the university, Mr. Abdul Karim Saleh, appreciated the university presidency’s continuous support for volunteer and charitable work activities, stressing that the interest of the university president constitutes an incentive to continue giving and dedication to serving the community.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf achieved third place among Iraqi universities in distinguished volunteer work, and received the Shield of Excellence from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.
