The President of the Islamic University of Najaf Al-Ashraf, Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, participated in the work of the Iraq Education Conference 2025, which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the international Clarivate Foundation, and with wide participation from Iraqi and international universities.
The two-day conference featured scholarly and dialogue sessions focusing on the Times Higher Education initiative to enhance the presence of Iraqi universities in global rankings, in addition to discussing digital transformation strategies and improving academic performance in higher education institutions.
A strategic cooperation agreement was also signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and Clarivate, aiming to strengthen the scientific research system in Iraq through specialized programs to qualify researchers in the fields of scientific publishing and innovation management.
A side event of the event was the opening of the International Universities Exhibition, which featured presentations of the educational and scientific achievements of Iraqi universities, as well as the participation of leading technical companies and academic delegations from around the world.
The participation of the Islamic University of Najaf confirms its active presence in the Iraqi and international academic movement, and its continuous endeavor to strengthen its position in national and international rankings. In recent years, the university has achieved remarkable progress thanks to its plans to develop scientific research and academic and technical infrastructure.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami stressed that participation in this international scientific forum reflects the university’s commitment to the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education in supporting innovation and excellence, adding that the university is steadily moving forward in implementing its strategy aimed at consolidating the quality of education and scientific research and achieving sustainable development.
