Islamic University, Najaf
On Saturday morning, October 18, 2025, His Eminence Sayyid Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji, founder of the Islamic University of Najaf al-Ashraf, held his annual meeting with all university members to mark the start of the new academic year.
During the meeting, His Eminence reviewed the university’s rich history, which spans over twenty-two years, emphasizing the distinguished position it has held among universities through its pioneering achievements and steps.
Sayyi Al-Qabanji called on everyone to make more efforts to achieve the university’s goals, most notably serving the people of Iraq and building the dear homeland through academic excellence and preserving the Islamic identity of which the institution is proud.
His Eminence pointed out that development must be vertical in studies and research and horizontal in the opening of colleges, departments and branches.
In conclusion, His Eminence extended his sincere thanks to the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, for his great efforts since its establishment, as well as to the assistants, deans, professors and all employees of the university, wishing them success and good luck.
