Islamic University, Najaf
Professor Dr. Ammar Ibrahim Al-Saabri, head of the University Performance Division at the Islamic University of Najaf, has been honored with the 2025 Research Leadership Award. The award was personally presented by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, during the recent Iraq Education 2025 Conference.
The Ministry, in collaboration with Clarivate, organized the conference where the distinction was given. Dr. Al-Saabri was recognized for his “excellence in academic and administrative performance” and his significant efforts in scientific research. He was selected from a distinguished group of Iraqi researchers and innovators whose work has demonstrably boosted the standing of Iraqi universities in international rankings.
The ceremony was part of a scientific evening held on the conference’s sidelines by the Scientific Research Authority. The event, attended by local and international academic figures, celebrated the spirit of creativity and excellence in Iraqi higher education with various performances and speeches.
Following the event, the Islamic University’s presidency extended its congratulations to Dr. Al-Saabri. The university stated that his achievement represents a “qualitative addition” to the institution’s journey in supporting scientific research and innovation, further embodying its commitment to academic excellence and leadership in university performance.
