Islamic University, Najaf
Under the patronage and guidance of the President of the Islamic University in Najaf, Prof. Ammar Abdul-Amir Al-Salami, the university has launched an initiative titled “With Tree-Planting, Our University Becomes More Beautiful”, coinciding with the second tree-planting campaign. The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage eco-friendly practices on campus, with the participation of female students and academic staff.
The campaign included the placement and planting of shade trees across internal areas of the various colleges and departments, in line with the university’s vision and mission to support sustainable development and enhance the campus environment.
In a related initiative, and under the supervision of Prof. Fatima Abdul-Amir Al-Salami, the Women’s Affairs Unit launched the “With Equality, We Thrive” campaign, aimed at promoting social awareness and empowering women, as part of the university’s programmes to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and strengthen the role of women in community building.
Prof. Fatima Abdul-Amir Al-Salami affirmed that these campaigns represent part of a series of future projects dedicated to supporting sustainable development and creating a green, healthy university environment that contributes to academic and societal progress.
