In a spirited atmosphere marked by enthusiasm, determination, and competitive drive, the Student Activities Department at the Islamic University, in collaboration with academic staff from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the Faculty of Education, is intensifying preparations for the university’s football team ahead of its participation in the Iraqi Universities Championship.
Thirty players from various faculties are currently taking part in training sessions, as part of a structured programme designed to select the most qualified and well-prepared athletes to represent the university in the tournament.
The team’s technical director, Dr Amir Fahim, highlighted the importance of commitment, discipline, and collective effort, noting that true success is achieved through unity and dedication to elevating the university’s standing in collegiate sporting events.
The Islamic University administration continues to provide full support for these preparations, reflecting its strong commitment to student activities and its belief in nurturing young talent, fostering sportsmanship, and promoting healthy competition among students.
