Islamic University, Najaf
Under the patronage and guidance of Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University in Najaf, the University launched an environmental initiative titled “Our University is More Beautiful with Trees”. The campaign, held in conjunction with the university’s second tree-planting drive, aims to raise environmental awareness among students and faculty members while encouraging eco-friendly practices across the campus.
The initiative involved planting shade trees in courtyards and open areas across the university’s colleges and departments, reflecting the institution’s commitment to its vision of supporting sustainable development.
Dr. Muhammad Ihsan Habal Al-Matin, Head of the Administration Department, noted that the campaign is part of a series of ongoing projects designed to promote sustainability and create a greener, healthier university environment. Meanwhile, the Head of Volunteer Work, Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Haidari, commended the efforts of college deans and the Media Department in ensuring the success of environmental initiatives. He also highlighted the university’s strong commitment—along with its branches in Babel and Diwaniya—to advancing sustainability projects and fostering positive values among students and faculty members.
