Islamic University, Najaf
On the blessed occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), his grandson Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him), and the commemoration of the construction of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the Mosque of Aṣḥāb al-Kisāʾ (peace be upon them) was inaugurated by the grace of Almighty God in the al-Midan area at the entrance to the old city of Najaf al-Ashraf.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the founder of the Islamic University, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Sayyid Sadr al-Din al-Qubbanji (may God preserve him), the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul-Amir al-Salami, along with a distinguished group of scholars, dignitaries, professors, community leaders, and residents of Najaf al-Ashraf, who all welcomed this significant religious and service-oriented project in a vital and crowded area much in need of such an initiative.
The gathering concluded with heartfelt prayers to Almighty God for all those who contributed to the planning, supervision, design, and construction of this blessed Islamic edifice, that it may stand as a righteous deed and a noble service for the visitors of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
