Islamic University, Najaf
The College of Medical Technologies at the Islamic University in Najaf held a festive ceremony in celebration of Eid al-Ghadeer, known as the Greatest Eid—marking the completion of religion and the perfection of divine blessings. The occasion commemorates the event of divine succession, in which Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) was appointed as the rightful successor to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).
The celebration was attended by the University President, Professor Dr Ammar Abdulameer Al-Salami, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr Hassan Melhem, the Dean of the College, Dr Abdulmajid Al-Saadi, along with his assistant, department heads, faculty members, and staff.
The event featured speeches highlighting the profound significance of Eid al-Ghadir in Islamic history and its enduring message of justice and rightful leadership. Speakers emphasised the role of this occasion in upholding the principles of loyalty and truth.
This celebration comes as part of a broader series of activities organised by the college to enhance students’ religious and cultural awareness and to strengthen their connection to timeless Islamic occasions.
