Islamic University, Najaf
The Islamic University in Najaf held an intellectual seminar entitled ‘The Role of Contemporary Islamic Thought in Facing Challenges’, in which His Eminence Sheikh Dr Haider Al-Sahlani lectured, in the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Dr Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, and the representative of the House of Wisdom in Baghdad, Dr Adel Al-Baghdadi, along with several deans of colleges and their assistants, and a group of university professors and students.
The seminar highlighted the role of Islamic thought in addressing cultural and social issues, and the mechanisms of adapting to contemporary changes, stressing the importance of renewal and openness within Islamic frameworks.
The symposium witnessed wide interaction and in-depth discussions on ways to promote enlightened Islamic thought and open new horizons to deal with the intellectual and social challenges facing societies today.
