Islamic University Holds Workshop on Oxygen Consumption Physiology

The College of Medical Technologies at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf recently The Islamic University, under the auspices of its President, Professor Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, and the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Assistant Professor Nazim Rahim Ghorab, recently hosted a scientific workshop. The Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences organised the event, which was titled ‘Physiology of VO2MAX and Anaerobic Threshold Differential’.

The workshop featured prominent speakers including Professor Dr Mahmoud Nasser Radhi, a lecturer from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Kufa University, alongside Professor Dr Muthanna Abdul-Ilah Dahsh and Professor Laith Jamhour Aven from the Islamic University’s Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences.

The aim of the workshop was to shed light on the latest scientific advancements in the sports field, with a particular focus on the significance of physiological indicators in evaluating physical performance. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about the newest devices and techniques employed in measuring VO2MAX and identifying effective training programmes.

The workshop concluded with an engaging interactive discussion where the lecturers addressed questions from the audience. The Dean of the Faculty expressed his gratitude to the speakers for their valuable contributions and wished them continued success in their academic pursuits.
