Islamic University, Najaf _ The Islamic University in Najaf recently held a special ceremony on the 15th of Sha’ban to commemorate the birth of Imam Mahdi (May Allah hasten his release). This event honored the winners and participants of the twelfth edition of the Imam Ali Al-Hadi (AS) Intellectual Creativity Competition.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Dahed, President of the Islamic University, and representatives from various universities. The gathering also included several professors and researchers, alongside deans from the Islamic University.
In his speech, Sayyid Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji emphasized the vital role of scholars during the time of occultation and highlighted universities’ mission in promoting cultural awareness and ethics. The Undersecretary praised the university’s contributions to scientific research and its standing among Iraqi institutions. Dr. Hadi Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, provided insights into the competition’s history.
The event featured a scientific discussion session where the top three winners presented their research.
All participants received certificates of appreciation and valuable prizes for their contributions. The university concluded the ceremony by announcing the next intellectual creativity competition, themed ‘Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (AS) and His Role in Islamic and Humanitarian Thought’.
