Islamic University, Najaf— The Islamic University recently celebrated its achievements at the Flag Day event organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The university was recognized for securing the second rank among distinguished universities for the years 2022 and 2023, as well as the third rank in the national ranking of Iraqi universities for 2024. Additionally, the Department of Quranic and Linguistic Studies earned the top position among all equivalent departments in both public and private universities across Iraq.
The ceremony was attended by University President Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul-Amir Al-Salami, along with university assistants, college deans, and staff from the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, as well as other employees and affiliates of the Islamic University. Honorees included the top-ranked colleges, particularly the Department of Quranic and Linguistic Studies, which not only achieved first place but also completed its program accreditation requirements. The Dean, Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Tamimi, Scientific Associate Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Al-Salami, and Assistant Professor Tawfiq Al-Ghazali were also recognized for their contributions.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Khayat, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, along with his assistant team, received accolades. Assistant Professor Dr. Ammar Al-Saabri, Director of the University Performance Department, was honored for winning the award for best engineering research in Iraq on Science Day.
In his speech, President Al-Salami expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts of the university’s professors and staff, particularly those in distinguished departments who contributed significantly to these accomplishments. He voiced optimism for further progress in the coming years, aiming to elevate the university’s standing in national and international rankings.
