Islamic University, Najaf— In a significant step towards enhancing legal expertise, the Islamic University in Najaf, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, and the Ministry of Defence, represented by Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Lami, Head of the Legal Department, signed a memorandum of cooperation. This agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of legal knowledge and the organization of joint seminars and workshops on topics such as law, human rights, and international humanitarian law. The memorandum was endorsed by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Thabet Al-Abbasi, following a delegation visit from the Islamic University to the Ministry.
During the signing ceremony, the University President announced that the Faculty of Dentistry’s medical clinic complex at the Islamic University will provide free services to Ministry of Defence personnel, in recognition of their sacrifices for the country’s sovereignty. The event was attended by the President of the Islamic University Branch in Babylon, University Council members, their assistants, and several Ministry of Defence officers.

Following the signing, the University President presented the University’s shield to the Minister of Defence, which was accepted by Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Lami. The distinguished guests were then given a tour of the University to showcase its commitment to scientific, cultural, and religious education, aimed at developing future leaders of Iraq.
