Islamic University in Najaf Hosts Council of Islamic Sciences College Deans in Iraq

Islamic University, Najaf— The Council of Deans of Islamic Sciences Colleges in Iraq convened its first meeting for the academic year 2024-2025 at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf. Prior to the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University, welcomed the deans in his office and encouraged them to collaborate with the Ministry of Higher Education to expand enrollment in Islamic sciences faculties for the upcoming academic channels.
Following this, the deans toured the university’s scientific and recreational facilities before commencing their discussions. The meeting addressed requests from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with appropriate measures taken to respond to these inquiries. Additionally, the council reviewed requests from several Islamic sciences faculties seeking to establish new scientific departments for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, ultimately approving applications that met the necessary criteria.
The council also focused on steps to secure program accreditation for Islamic sciences faculties, urging deans to work closely with relevant committees to facilitate this process. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Al-Salami presented certificates of appreciation to the deans for their contributions toward enhancing the academic and scientific standards in Iraqi universities.
