English Education Department Team Wins Islamic University Women’s Pentathlon Championship

Islamic University, Najaf— In line with its commitment to serving Iraqi society, particularly the local community in Najaf, the Islamic University of Najaf organized a visit to the State Home for Elderly Care. This initiative was part of the directives from the university’s president, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, emphasizing the institution’s responsibility toward societal welfare. The delegation, led by Prof. Yassar Al-Shamaa and faculty members from the Department of Anaesthesiology, toured the facility and conversed with the elderly residents. They presented gifts and organized a small forum to entertain the residents, which began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Dr. Imad Ayad Abbas. The event also included meals prepared by the students themselves.
Mr. Haider Naama Al-Jubouri, director of the elderly care home, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the university’s initiatives, noting their positive psychological effects on the elderly and their practical benefits in alleviating care needs amid ongoing social challenges.
Additionally, the Community Service Division at the Islamic University remains dedicated to addressing humanitarian issues, striving to bring joy to the lives of vulnerable populations such as the elderly and orphans.
