Islamic University, Najaf – In line with the initiative of His Excellency Prime Minister Eng. Mohammed Shi’a Al-Sudani and the directives of His Excellency Dr. Naim Al-Abboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf has commenced a tree planting campaign under the direct supervision of President Prof. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami and Assistant Rector for Administrative Affairs Prof. Hassan Taher Melhem Al-Yasiri. The university aims to plant 1,000 trees in this initial phase across various squares, streets, and schools in Najaf, while also enhancing green spaces on its campus.
During the campaign’s launch, the President of the University, along with the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, planted the first tree. He commended the efforts to serve the nation and stressed the importance of fostering a culture that prioritizes environmental care and the expansion of green spaces.
It is worth noting that this campaign comes within the initiative of the Prime Minister to plant 100 million trees.
