Islamic University, Najaf – The Islamic University of Najaf Al-Ashraf has been recognized as the second-best private university in Iraq for student activities, including sports, scouting, fine arts, theatre, and cinema, in the annual evaluation by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the academic year 2023-2024. Out of 71% private universities, the Islamic University scored 723 points.
Notably, it outperformed all government universities except Al-Mustansiriya University, which ranked first overall with 741 points.
The Student Activities Department at the Islamic University extends its gratitude to the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, for his unwavering support and patronage of student activities. They also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of Professor Dr. Haider Al-Quraishi, Head of the Babylon Branch, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Falfal, Head of the Al-Qadisiyah Branch, for their efforts in engaging students in various activities.
The department further expresses its appreciation to the University’s Sports Unit, led by Ali Al-Rifai, Karar Al-Tamimi, Ms. Mays Muhammad, and Israa Al-Saadi, as well as the Head of the Scouting Unit, Mr. Ghaith Qasim Muhammad Al-Khaqani, and the Teaching Fine Arts Unit, Hasnaa Sadr Al-Din Al-Qabanji and Mr. Amir Ahmed Watout. They also commend the coaches, administrators, players, students, and poets who participated in the university’s various activities, contributing to the university’s outstanding achievements.
