Islamic University, Najaf – The Department of Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies at the Islamic University’s Faculty of Islamic Sciences held a symposium titled “Methods of Activating the Quranic Text in Addressing Social Problems” on May 13th, 2024. Scholar Dr. Abdul Amir Jabr Suhail, a faculty member at the University, delivered the lecture. The session was moderated by Mohsen Rasul Al-Saffar, Director of the Holy Quran Division and Assistant Lecturer. Dr. Suhail emphasized the Quran’s role in guiding individuals and societies. He highlighted Quranic verses that provide a comprehensive framework for addressing social issues, offering Muslims guidance to avoid problems faced by past societies. The lecture also explored methods for incorporating these Quranic teachings into daily life. The symposium attracted a distinguished audience, including the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Hadi Al-Tamimi, the Head of the Department of Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies, Professor Dr. Hakim Al-Kuraiti, faculty members, and students. Following the lecture, the Dean honored Dr. Suhail and the participating professors.
