Islamic University, Najaf – The Islamic University of Najaf volleyball team made a strong showing in the recent university championship held at the University of Basra. The tournament drew a large number of teams from both public and private universities. The Islamic University delegation, led by Mr. Ammar Mohi Al-Qazwini, Dr. Ahmed Radi, and Dr. Hussein Sami, enjoyed a string of victories throughout the competition.
In their opening match, the Islamic University team dominated Al-Ameed University with a decisive 2-0 win. They continued their winning streak in the second match, defeating the University of Maysan by another 2-0 score. These consecutive wins secured their advancement to the round of 16.
The team’s momentum continued in the third match, where they defeated the Northern Technical University 2-0. This victory propelled them into the prestigious top eight of the championship.
