Ahmed Nasr al-Din Qasim, a student from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Islamic University of Najaf al-Ashraf, won first place in the interpretation section of the sixth national Qur’anic competition in memorising, reciting, and interpreting the Holy Qur’an. The competition was held by Imam al-Kadhim College in Babylon, in cooperation with the Holy Qur’an House at the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine between February 27 and February 28, 2024. It’s worth noting that the competition took two stages: the initial one was an electronic preliminary in which 10 students from the Islamic University were involved. Out of 75 contestants from more than 20 universities and institutes, 6 students reached the final stage.
The competition’s jury consisted of: Dr. Mustafa Hail Al-Anbari as head of the committee; Sheikh Fadel Al-Tamimi as a judge of interpretation; the memorizer Maha Kamal Al-Din as a judge of the quality of memorization; the memorizer Najwa Saud as a judge of the quality of memorization; Mr. Ammar Al-Mahawili as a judge of the rules of Tajweed; and Mr. Hassanein Al-Humairi as a judge of stopping and beginning.
