The Islamic University bestows honour on participants in the Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him) Award for Intellectual Creativity.

The Islamic University in Najaf hosted a ceremony to honour the winners of the Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him) Award for Intellectual Creativity, under the auspices of Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, the university’s president.
The honoree was attended by a number of personalities, including the Secretary of the Grand Mosque of Kufa, Mr. Muhammad Majeed Al-Musawi, the representative of the Kadhimiya Holy Shrine, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Al-Kadhimi, and a number of deans of the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf and teachers from various universities. After reading verses from the Holy Quran, the ceremony was followed by a research session where the top three winning papers were reviewed.
Forty papers from various countries participated in the competition, including Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, Egypt, and the United Kingdom. After conducting a scientific evaluation and submitting these studies to the electronic extraction program, sixteen of them were eliminated. According to the scientific evaluation, the research participating in the competition was as follows:
1. First-prize winner: Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul-Zahra Jassem Al-Khafaji of the Islamic University, Babylon Branch, Iraq. His study, “Imam Muhammad Al-Jawad, peace be upon him, his era, and his relationship with authority—a study in the history of Shiism in the first Abbasid era,” was awarded first place. In addition to the International Intellectual Creativity Medal, Dr. Al-Khafaji was given three gold coins for the achievement.
2. Second-prize winner: Associate Professor Dr. Somaya Hassanalian, from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Isfahan, Iran, with her research entitled: The image of Imam Al-Jawad, peace be upon him, within the scope of Persian poetry—an objective aesthetic study. Dr. Hassanalian received two gold coins along with the Medal of Intellectual Creativity for the award.
3. Third-prize winner: Lecturer Dr. Hawraa Abdel Nasser Al-Ramahi from the College of Education for Girls at the University of Kufa, Iraq, with her research entitled: The image of Imam Al-Jawad, peace be upon him, according to the American orientalist Dwight Donaldson. Dr. Al-Ramahi received one gold coin along with the Medal of Intellectual Creativity for the award.
The Islamic University launched this project with the goal of promoting Ahl al-Bayt’s (peace be upon him) legacy and ideas.
