The Islamic University of Najaf Al-Ashraf honored its first winners in the Listening and Answering and Signs of Appearance competitions. An electronic competition held on the anniversary of Assayda Al-Zahra’s birth was organized by Al-Baseera Channel at the Islamic University to answer questions about a lecture entitled: What did Al-Zahra, peace be upon her, contribute to human civilization? Competition participants included more than 200 students from Iraqi universities and middle schools.
In addition, the channel held a symposium and competition about Imam Mahdi, peace be upon him, entitled (Signs of Appearance), which was attended by many Iraqi students at universities and schools.
Dr. Hassan Melhem, Administrative Assistant to the University President, emphasised in the honouring programme that such competitions and seminars are vital to raise Islamic cultural awareness and develop a firm foundation to resist deviant notions.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Baseera Channel, affiliated with the Islamic University, regularly holds electronic seminars and competitions for its students and students from Iraqi universities.
