At the third annual international student Qur’anic competition (Fatihah, al-Kitab) held by Imam al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) College in Diwaniyah, the Islamic University won first place. Salah Mahdi Haroun, representing the Islamic University in Babylon, won first place in the recitation section, while Maryam Ahmed Sadiq, representing the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf, won second place in the memorization section.

2- Sheikh Taha Abdel Wahhab, of voice and melody.
3- Dr. Hassan Al-Darbandi, rules of Stopping, starting.
