The Islamic University ranked first among Najaf’s private universities and colleges and third in Iraq in the 2023 Iraqi Classification of Universities issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Agency evaluated 95 governmental and private institutions in this version based on institutional accreditation standards: 20%, international classifications: 10%, effectiveness of scientific research: 30%, community service: 5%, digital maturity: 2%, faculty members: 10%, awards: 5%, students: 5%, infrastructure: 5%, diversity and international cooperation: 5%, and occupational health and safety: 3%.
