Muhammad Talib Mohsen, a student from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf, took third place in memorising the entire Holy Qur’an in the ninth national competition for Iraqi university students, which was held on November 24-25, 2023 by the General Secretariat of the Kufa Mosque and the shrines attached to it.
The Islamic University delegation was led by the Director of the Holy Quran Division, Mr. Mohsen Rasul Al-Saffar, and included students Muhammad Talib Mohsen in the memorization section and Muhammad Adnan Abbas in the recitation section.
It is important to note that the Islamic University competed against 28 public and private universities. Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, the President of the Islamic University, attended the closing ceremony. The Grand Mosque of Kufa’s General Secretariat presented a shield to the university presidency.
