Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education, IU hosts the Iraqi Universities Table Tennis Championship

The Islamic University of Najaf Al-Ashraf hosted the national college and university table tennis tournament. More than fifty public and private universities participated in the tournament, which was opened by Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf, and Dr. Ammar Al-Suwaidi, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education. The competition will last six days.
In the Grand Indoor Sports Hall, the tournament began with a review of the participating teams and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech by the University President, Dr. Al-Salami. As part of his speech, Dr. Al-Salami commended the participating teams, the organizing committee, and the bright attendance. Dr. Al-Suwaidi, the representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, then spoke about the role the Islamic University plays in hosting such youth competitions.
For his part, Dr. Jabbar Rahima Hassan Al-Kaabi, Chairman of the Organising Committee and Head of the Department of Physical Education at the Islamic University, stated, “The Department of Supervision and Evaluation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Student Activities Department is holding this tournament as part of the activities of the second section of the Ministry’s activities,” noting that the number of participating teams reached 54 universities.
