Islamic University contributes to establishing the first national symposium on earthquake design requirements according to the 2017 Iraqi earthquake code.

The Islamic University of Najaf contributed to the establishment of the first national symposium on anti-seismic design requirements at Komar University in Sulaymaniyah. The Islamic University was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Technical Engineering, in his capacity as the head of the blog preparation team, Dr. Ali Al-Athari, Dr. Hussein Khalaf Jarallah, and Dr. Muhammad Muhammad Rashid from the College of Engineering at Al-Mustansiriya University.

The consultant, Dr. Nabil Al-Bayati, from Ashur University College, also participated in the symposium with the opening lecture and discussions.

As a result of the symposium, a number of recommendations were made, the most important of which was the need to update seismic maps.

The success of the symposium was greatly influenced by the organization and preparation of the academic and scientific atmosphere at Komar University in Sulaymaniyah, which was represented by Dr. Ako Hama Rashid, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Salahuddin Saei, President of the University.
