Islamic University’s student volleyball team defeated Al-Qalam University 2-0. With this victory, the Islamic University team qualified for the second round of the Iraqi Universities’ Volleyball Championship for students, where the Islamic University hosts the competitions of the two groups (C, H) in the closed sports hall in the university, while matches of the other groups are held on the playgrounds of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and the Technical Institute in Kufa.
Earlier today, the University of Baghdad defeated the University of Diyala by 2-0 in the competition between groups C and H. Meanwhile, the University of Basra defeated Iraq University College by the same score.
Several matches of the tournament will be held this evening, in which 45 universities and governmental and private colleges will compete.
This championship takes place under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Student Activities Department, which is part of the ministry’s second section. It is one of the activities of the Ministry’s second section. (HTH)
