On February 28, 2023, the Islamic University of Najaf participated in the University Poetry Festival, which is held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for poets at Ahl al-Bayt University (PBUH) in the holy city of Karbala.
According to Dr. Jabbar Rahima Al-Kaabi, head of the university’s student activities department, our university participated with two poets: Saif al-Islam Ali, a third-year dental student, and Shahad Noman Jabbar, a first-year English Department student in the Faculty of Education.
Al-Kaabi explained that “Ms. Hasnaa Al-Qabbanji, who is responsible for the artistic activity in the Student Activities Department at the university, attended the festival and indicated that the students of the Islamic University, Saif Al-Islam and Shahd, read their poems at the opening ceremony of the festival”.
93 students from most of Iraq’s governmental and private universities and colleges will participate in the festival, including male and female students from the Islamic University in Najaf. (HTH)
