The Najaf Islamic University and its branch in the provinces of Babylon and Diwaniyah commemorate all special occasions for the infallible (peace be upon them), especially the birth of the Imam, Commander of the Faithful Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), on the thirteenth of the month of Rajab.
The Husseini Youth Authority had been preparing for the blessed event by holding a sizable central celebration in which all of its members and students would participate, according to Dr. Zaid Hussein Al-Akayshi, the university’s director of public relations.
Al-Akaishi continued, “The Husseini Youth Authority wrote more than seventy banners and advertisements on the occasion and hundreds of meters of decorative flags that refer to the fragrant memory.” The university faculty halls in the Al-Adala neighborhood and the walls of the Imam Al-Hussein Medical Center in the old city center both flew these flags and banners.
He added that the university’s Husseini Youth Authority will host a grand celebration of the occasion tomorrow, Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the university’s gardens. Poetry readings by chanters from the university and the community will be featured at the event, which will also provide juice and treats to all attendees. (HTH)
