On Saturday morning, the Islamic University of Najaf held a memorial ceremony on the third anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders of victory (may God Almighty have mercy on them) in the presence of the founder of the university, His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadr al-Din al-Qabbanji, the university president, Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir al-Salami, the deans of the faculties, their assistants, and students.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah in honor of the Iraqi martyrs and the Iraqi republican anthem. His Eminence, Sayyed Al-Qabbanji, the university’s founder, then addressed the audience on the role the victory leaders played in fighting terrorism and liberating Iraq from its filth.
After that, poets from the university and the Diwaniyah governorate recited heartfelt poems that expressed Iraqis’ grief over the martyrdom of their leaders. Moreover, they referred to their role in liberating Iraq from terrorist groups, as well as the sacrifices made by heroic security services and the purity of their blood, without which Iraq would not have been freed from terrorism.
