The Community Service Division visits the Physical Disability Institute in Najaf

Under the auspices of the founder of the Islamic University in Najaf, His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadr al-Din al-Qabbanji, and the direction of the university president, Dr. Ammar al-Salami, a delegation from the university’s Community Service Division visited the Physical Disability Institute of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on Sunday, November 27, 2022. The delegation met the Director of the Institute, Mr. Aqil Al-Mayali, his assistant, and the teaching staff and received information about the conditions of disabled children, living their daily lives, talking with them, learning about their hobbies, and achieving their goals by organizing a visit for them to the Islamic University.

The representative of the university’s Community Service Division, Mr. Abdul Karim Saleh Al-Haidari, stated that “the university has directed the need to give services to the various segments of society, and among its daily efforts to serve the community was the delegation’s visit to the Disability Institute, accompanied by Mr. Hassan Khalil, a teacher in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, to view his most essential demands, which were explained to the delegation.”
The delegation, he continued, “was briefed on the challenges and impediments that hinder special needs youngsters from successfully and fully participating in community activities.” In addition, the university will plan excursions for the institute’s students, including one to its building the next week, and then arrange a unique pavilion for the institution’s sixth cultural week. In order for the students of this institute to feel like an important and valued member of society, the university will annually invite creators to exhibit their skills in drawing, sculpture, calligraphy, acting, and athletics, which will be in a dedicated wing for the students of this institute.
Aqil Al-Mayali, the Director of the Institute, expressed his gratitude and thanks at the end of the visit for the humanitarian initiatives of the Islamic University and for their visit, which brought a smile to the faces of this segment that is always in need of help. (HTH)
