On Saturday, the Department of Relations at the Islamic University of Najaf organised an exhibition to sell flowers and trees to students, as part of an initiative to encourage students to plant in their homes by selling perennial trees and flower seedlings at subsidised costs. The initiative came in conjunction with the afforestation campaigns carried out by the university to plant about a thousand perennial and evergreen trees in the corridors of the university and in the streets and squares of the city of Najaf. In conjunction with various groups of society, this initiative is part of a national campaign to increase green space in roads and public places. (HTH)
