Under the patronage and guidance of the President of the Islamic University of Najaf, Dr. Ammar Abdul-Amir Al-Salami, the University’s Community Service Division has initiated its first afforestation campaign in the holy city of Najaf for the new academic year (2022-2023) by coordinating and cooperating with environmental groups. Approximately (500) evergreen seedlings were planted.
A Division official, Abdul Karim Al-Haidari, said that the campaign will be followed by several successive campaigns to plant hundreds of perennial trees and rose seedlings from the Islamic University nursery. Afforestation campaigns are held in Najaf to increase the green area, in which faculty and student volunteers serve their community and help preserve its natural resources. (HTH)
