The Department of Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the Islamic University of Najaf and the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the College of Arts at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon him) in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, held their international conference “Curriculum of Qur’anic, Literary and Critical Studies between Authenticity and Renewal” under the slogan “The Arabic language is the civilised face of Muslims” on Wednesday, the thirty-first of August, corresponding to Safar 3, 1444.
The inaugural session took place in the premises of the Islamic University of Najaf, in the presence of the President of the Islamic University, Assistant Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir Al-Salami, and the President of Al-Zahra University (peace be upon him), Prof. Dr. Farida Haq Bayn (electronically), and a blessed gathering of deans, heads of scientific departments, and teachers who participated in the conference, in person or electronically.
The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Hadi Al-Tamimi.
The participating researchers were divided into four sessions, the first and the second of which were moderated by Prof. Dr. Hakim Al-Kuraiti, Head of the Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies Department at the College of Islamic Sciences at the Islamic University, and by Prof. Dr. Khalil Abdel-Sada, Head of the Islamic Education Department at the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf.
As for the third and fourth sessions, they were held on the premises of Al-Zahra University (peace be upon him) in Tehran and were moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Ruqayya Rostumpour, Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon him), and Prof. Dr. Fatima Akbarizadeh at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon him).
About 70 papers were received by the preparatory committee for the conference, 46 of which were accepted after being presented to the arbitration committees.
This research was selected because of its richness and abundance of ideas that serve the Noble Qur’an and the Arabic language, and it will be published in a special issue of the Refereed Islamic College Journal.
In conclusion, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this international scientific conference from the two universities, starting with the presidency of the two universities; the assistants; deans; heads of scientific departments; the media units in the two universities; the e-learning officials in them; and the distinguished professors and professors who participated in this blessed conference.
