On Wednesday the 22nd of June 2022, under the patronage of the President of the Islamic University of Najaf, Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, the faculty of Technical Engineering at the Islamic university organized a training workshop to obtain accreditation for the departments of the College of Technical Engineering, under the supervision of the President of the National Council for Improving the Quality of Technical Engineering Education, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Bakri and Prof. Dr. Ali Shaker Baqer and Prof. Dr. Imad Al Mulla. As well as the scientific assistant at the university, Prof. Mohsen Al-Mudhaffar, the dean of the college of technical engineering, Prof. Ali Al-Ethari, and a number of faculty members and staff members, the workshop was attended by members of the quality assurance and university performance departments in the college and the faculty of technical engineering.
The lecturers in the workshop highlighted the paragraphs related to the accreditation standards adopted by the National Council for Quality Improvement of Technical Engineering Education.
Dr. Al-Ethari expressed the readiness of the Islamic University and its Deanship to repeat such workshops and in specialized fields in the future.
The workshop included several topics including: the role of international accreditations in developing academic work, an overview of the experience of international universities, how to obtain international accreditation, and its importance for graduates in the labor market inside and outside Iraq. Then the lecturers answered the questions and inquiries of the participants.
The President of the National Council for Improving the Quality of Technical Engineering Education, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Bakri, thanked the presidency of the university and the workshop participants for their efforts to obtain the accreditation. He commended the university’s continuous cooperation in the workflow and its smoothness, and its keenness in preparing the requirements to ensure the evaluation of all its departments with high transparency.
