The activities of the first national Quranic competition for Iraqi university students in memorizing, tajwid and reciting the Holy Quran, which coincided with the auspicious birth of Lady Fatima Al-Ma’sumah (peace be upon her), concluded in the Hall of the Noble Qur’an Division in the Islamic University prayer hall.
The closing ceremony was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Ammar Al-Salami, the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Hadi Al-Salami, his assistant Dr. Fatima Al-Salami, representatives of the Hussainiya Holy Shrine, Alkufa Grand Mosque secretariat, and a large group of participants in the competition, which is the first of its kind in Iraq.
The ceremony opened with the recitation of a verse from the Holy Quran, the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah to the martyrs, and a speech by the President of the University, Dr. Al-Salami. Dr. Al-Salami congratulated all the participants and winners of the competition who will participate in the competition that will be held on the Great Eid al-Ghadir Day in the holy city of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in cooperation with Al-Zahra Women’s University in Tehran.
Dr. Al-Salami pointed out that the activities of the national competition are the first of their kind at the level of Iraqi universities, with the participation of 40 students from more than 15 Iraqi universities from different governorates of our beloved Iraq.
The Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the university, Dr. Fatima Al-Salami, also delivered a speech, praising all the participants and the steering committee, which is restricted to women exclusively, and made up of female professors of the women’s section at the House of the Holy Qur’an at the Husseiniya Holy Shrine, wishing success to all participants in the competition. Dr. Al-Salami wished the qualified winners to participate in the international competition that will be held in the holy city of Mashhad on the days of the celebration of Al-Ghadeer Eid, with brilliance and success.
After that, the President of the University and the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences and his assistant and representative of the Kufa Mosque Secretariat presented the certificates of appreciation and gifts to the three winners, which are precious gold bars, in appreciation and gratitude from the Islamic University to the female students, and for encouraging them to culture the Qur’an and adhere to it.

2- Zahraa Sabah Hadi/ College of Oil and Gas Engineering, University of Basra.
3- Amani Hussein Abd Ali / College of Administration and Economics, University of Basra.

1- Hajar Ali Hamid / Department of Pathological Analysis at Al-Kut University College.
2- Ruqayya Ali Jafit / from the College of Nursing, University of Karbala.
3- Aswar Azhar Hamouda / from the College of Science at the University of Basra.

1- Tabarak Abdul Rahman Nasser / College of Pharmacy at Karbala University.
2- Zahraa Shaker Shanawa / College of Science at the University of Basra.
3- Sakina Basem Jabr / Department of Quranic Sciences at Imam Al-Kadhim College (peace be upon him) / Babylon.
